Substituting equation 1 into 2, we get

=> 5x + 3(5-3x) = 3

=> 5x + 15 - 9x = 3

=> 4x = 12

=> x = 3

On putting the value of x in equation 1, we get

=> y = 5-3*3

=> y = - 4
