6. A car travelling at 80 m/s is braked so as to produce a retardation of 4 m/s?. After what time will
its speed be 40 m/s and what will be the distance travelled during this time?
2)An aeroplane touches the runway at 270 km/h and stops after a run of one kilometre. How long
S does it take to stop?
(26.67 s)
3)A car accelerates from rest at 2 m/s2. What will be its speed and how far will it be from its
starting point after 10 s? After what distance will its speed be 40 m/s? (20 m/s; 100 m; 400 m)
A train travelling at 126 km/h has its speed reduced to 54 km/h while it passes over
500 m. Assuming the track is straight and the retardation is uniform, find the retardation. How
much farther will the train travel before coming to rest?
(1 m/s2;112.5 m)
4)The initial velocity of a car is 5 m/s. It accelerates uniformly at 0.5 m/s2 for 30 s and then
retards uniformly at 2 m/s2. Find the distance covered by the car before it comes to rest. For
how much time is the car in motion?
(475 m; 40 s)
5)A body accelerates uniformly at 0.2 m/s2 and retards uniformly at 0.3 m/s2. If the maximum
velocity attained by it is 30 m/s, find the least time in which it can complete a journey of 6 km.
(325 s)
12. Two cars P and Q start side by side from rest at the same instant and in the same direction.
P accelerates uniformly at 4 m/s2 for 10 seconds and then moves with uniform velocity.
Q moves with a uniform acceleration of 3 m/s2. Find the distance between them 30 seconds
(Q is ahead of P by 350 m)

Answer:
6 . u = 80m/s
v = 40m/s
a = -4 m/s²
From v = u + at,
40m/s = 80m/s - 4t
- 40 = - 4t
t = 10s
From S = ut + 1/2at²,
S = 80*10 - 2*100
S = 800 - 200
S = 600m
hope it helped and please mark as brainliest:)
