6. A car travels first 30 km with a uniform speed of
60 km h-1 and then next 30 km with a uniform speed
of 40 km h-1. Calculate : (i) the total time of journey,
(ii) the average speed of the car.

Total distance covered by car = 60 km

And, total time taken in journey t=t1​+t2​

t=\frac{s1}{v1}+\frac{s2}{v2}

 =\frac{30}{60}+ \frac{30}{40}

 =\frac{5}{4}​ h

Therefore, Average Speed=Total Distance/Total Time

                                              ​=\frac{60}{\frac{5}{4}}

                                              ​=48 km/h
