Explanation:

Let the total distance is d.

Then the time taken to cover the first half distance is:

=v12d

Similarly,

 The time taken in second half is:

=v22d

Thus the average speed is:

s=2dv1+2dv2d

=v1+v22v2v1

AnsweR :

  • V1 (Velocity of first half distance) = 30 km/h
  • V2 (Velocity of second half distance) = 50 km/h

Average Velocity (V_avg) = (2 * V1 * V2)/(V1 + V2)

V_avg = (2 * 30 * 50)/(30 + 50)

V_avg = (2 * 1500)/(80)

V_avg = 3000/80

V_avg = 37.5 m/s
