6. A circuit consists of 1 ohm wire in series with a parallel arrangement of 6 ohm and 3 ohm wires. Calculate the total resistance of the circuit. (Ans. 30)​

First we will solve the resistance those which are in parallel.

so, by formula of parallel combination we can write,

R=(6×3)/6+3

= 18/9

= 2

And now we will add 2 and 1 as both will be in series

so total equivalent resistance of circuit will be 3.
