A cylindrical tank has a capacity of 7,986 cm³. If its depth is 21 cm

Find the diameter of cylindrical tank

sσℓυτiσท

  • Volume of tank = 7986 cm³
  • Height of tank = 21cm
  • Diameter = ?

Volume of cylinder = 7986 cm³

→ πr²h = 7986

→ 22/7 × r² × 21 = 7986

→ 22 × r² × 3 = 7986

→ 66r² = 7986

→ r² = 7986/66

→ r² = 121

→ r = √121 = 11 cm

Hence, the radius is 11 cm and its diameter is 22cm

  • Diameter = 2*radius
  • CSA of cylinder = 2πrh
  • TSA of cylinder = 2πrh + 2πr²
