6. A suitcase with measures 50 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm is to be covered with a tarpaulin
cloth. How much metres of tarpaulin cloth of width 40 cm is required to cover suitcase ?

total surface area of cuboid= 2(lb+bh+hl)

given

let x cm of cloth is required

total surface area of suitcase = total area of . tarpaulin

so

2(50*40+40*40+50*40)=40* x

200(20+16+20)/40 = X

X=5(56)

X =280 cm

so 2.8 metres length of 40 cm width tarpaulin is required
