Answer:

a.ADH is the odd one in the given group

b.Gigantism

c.None

Explanation:

a.The pars distalis region of pituitary,

commonly called anterior pituitary, produces

growth hormone (GH), prolactin (PRL), thyroid

stimulating hormone (TSH),

adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH),

luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle

stimulating hormone (FSH).Whereas,Neurohypophysisknown as posterior pituitary, stores

and releases two hormones called oxytocin and

vasopressin, also called as anti-diuretic hormone (ADH).

b.Cretinism, myxoedema, simple goitre and exophthalmic goitre are caused by under or hyper production of thyroid glands, where as gigantism is due to over-secretion of growth hormone that stimulates abnormal growth of the body.

c.GH,TSH,ACTH,FSH,LH all are secreted by the anterior pituitary gland.

Answer:

a. ADH

b. gigantism

c. None

Explanation:

To find: the odd one out from the given three groups.

Pituitary gland is a master gland of the Endocrine system, and it controls the release of numerous hormones in the human body which is then transported to various organs.

Pituitary gland is in turn divided into anterior and posterior pituitary gland

a. ADH- Is the odd one out.

Which is Antidiuretic hormone, it is also called as vasopressin.

It is released from the Posterior Pituitary Gland.

Function of ADH- is to tell the kidneys to produce less urine,

while helping in the absorption of more water.

Where as the rest of the hormones such as TSH(thyroid stimulating hormone), ACTH(adrenocorticotropic hormone), FSH(follicle stimulating hormone), LH(Luteinizing hormone) are released from Anterior Pituitary Gland.

Please note: I have attached a diagram showing anterior and posterior pituitary

b. Gigantism- Is the odd one out.

It is a disorder caused due to excessive release of Growth hormone after the fusion of epiphysis to the shaft of the lonf bones..

It is different from Acromegaly- which is also caused due excessive release of growth hormones but before the fusion of epiphysis of the bone with the shaft(structure present in long bones)

The rest such as Cretinism, myxedema, simple goitre, ,exophthalmic goitre are also disorders but they are caused due to under secretion or over secretion of Thyroid hormones.

c. The answer would be none.

since, all the hormones are released from anterior pituitary gland and all are responsible to perform different functions.
