6.Bacteria present in our mouth react with food (sugar or starch) left in between the teeth while eating food. This sugar or starch is converted to acid by the bacterial action.Acid produced react with enamel on the teeth resulting in tooth decay. To protect our teeth we should brush our teeth with a good toothpaste.What should be the chemical nature of the toothpaste to save the enamel on the teeth? ​

Toothpaste are always basic in nature as they neutralised the acids present in our mouth and also we can identify them by using indicators or by analysing that they lose oh- ions when dissolved in water although it is arhenius concept....
