or the graph of x + 3y = 6 and find the area of the triangle formed by this line and the coordinate axes.​

Given eq. ;

  • x + 3y = 6
  • x = 6 -3y

y = 1------> x = 3 = point A

y = 0 ------> x = 6 = point B

y = 2 ------> x = 0 = pointC

The graph is given with the answer

Thus area of the ∆ =

 \frac{1}{2}  \times b \times h \\  \implies \:  \frac{1}{2}  \times 6 \times 2 \\  \implies \: 6  \: {units}^{2}
