Explain the reason behind the following observations
a)We see water droplets on the outer surface of a tumbler containing ice cold water

(b) While boiling water , a constant temperature of 100°C is registered till the water evaporates.

Explanation:

a) the water vapor around the tumbler containing ice cold water gets condensed using the energy of the water hence the water starts loosing it's coolness and that is the reason why you observe water droplets.

b) you do not see change in degrees after 100 during boiling of water because the heat generated after it is used to convert water to steam termed as latent heat of vaporisation
