Explanation:

Exhaustible natural resources are those which have reserves of limited time span and will be finished in due course of time. These resources once depleted cannot be replenished back. It takes millions of years for the formation of fossil fuels. The rate at which we are using them is very fast compared to the rate of their formation. Due to this, fossil fuels are exhaustible in nature.

Explain why fossil fuels are exhaustible natural resources.

➜ To regenerate, fossils fuels required millions of year. Deep inside the earth, they need high pressure and high temperature and it cannot be obtained in the laboratory. Their rate of conversion from dead vegetation to coal is very slow as compared to their rate of consumption. Therefore, they will exhaust in the near future.
