6. Find the sum of 16 m 78 cm and 20 m 12 cm. Subtract the sum from 40 m.

We know that,

1 m= 100cm. So,

16m 78cm = 16. 78m and

20m 12cm= 20.12m

So if we add them,

16.78 + 20.12 = 36.90 m

Subtracting this from 40m ,

40 - 36.9= 3.1 m

Therefore,

ANS : 3.1 m

then subtract like:-1m = 100 cm

                               36 m = 3600cm

               then :- 40 m = 4000cm

then:- subtract = 4000cm

                               400 cm
