a) At room temperature (25°C), water is a liquid because it has the following characteristics of liquid:

  1. At room temperature, water has no shape but has a fixed volume i.e., it occupies the shape of the container in which it is kept.
  2. At room temperature, water flows easily.

b) An iron almirah is a solid at room temperature because its melting point as well as boiling point is above room temperature.

★ Similarly,

  1. An iron almirah is rigid and has a fixed shape.
  2. The density of metal is quite high. Hence, iron almirah is a solid at room temperature.

Answer:

water at room temperature is a liquid because at room temperature water is at 15 to 20 degree celsius temperature and the substance water if it is lower than zero degree celsius then it is ice and when it is upper than hundred degree Celsius then it is boiled light steam so that according to room temperature water is liquid

almirah is solid at room temperature because iron is the substance by which almirah is made and iron melts at 2000 degree Celsius and the shape of iron almirah is not changing it is it is fixed also it is volume and mass is also it is in solid
