Majority of the water life comprises of fishes
fishes don't have lungs so they simply breathe through their gills by taking the oxygen rich water in.
now suppose if you add some HCl in the water
that HCL will be mixed with water and fish will take that water in
now that HCl will definately hurt fish's respiratory track and its gills thus that fish will eventually die
what could be worse?
suppose if you eat that fish
you will face pelvic ulser and many other painful diseases
and change in temperature decreases the solubility of oxygen in water which makes it hard for the fishes to extract oxygen from the water.
