Question :

In a school there are 180 students out of which 70% are girls. Also there are 10 teachers out of which 80% teachers are females .

1] Ratio of number of boys to number of male teachers .

2] Ratio of number of girls to number of male teachers

Answer :

\sf\pink{Given:}

  • Total number of students in a school is 180 .

  • 70% of the total students are girls .

  • Total number of teachers is 10 .

  • Out of total teachers 80% teachers are females .

\sf\pink{To\:find:}

  • Ratio of number of boys to number of male teachers ?

  • Ratio of number of girls to number of male teachers ?

Explanation :

70% of the total students are girls , therefore number of girls

= \sf{\dfrac{70}{100}\times 180}

Number of girls = \sf{\dfrac{70}{10}\times 18}

Number of girls = \sf{7\times 18}

Number of girls = \sf{126}

Therefore number of girls is 126.

Number of boys = Total students - number of girls

\longrightarrow\sf{ 180 - 126}

\longrightarrow\sf{ 54}

Therefore the number of boys is 54 .

80% of the total teachers are females therefore number of female teachers

= \sf{\dfrac{80}{100}\times 10}

Number of female teachers = \sf{\dfrac{80}{10}}

Number of female teachers = \sf{8}

Therefore the number of female teachers is 8 .

Number of male teachers = Total number of teachers - number of female teachers .

\longrightarrow\sf{ 10 - 8}

\longrightarrow\sf{2}

Therefore the number of male teachers is 2 .

  • Ratio of number of boys to number of male teachers

Ratio = \sf{\dfrac{Number\:of\:boys}{number\:of\:male\: teachers}}

Ratio = \sf{\dfrac{54÷2}{2÷2}}

Ratio = \sf{\dfrac{27}{1}}

Ratio = 27:1

  • Ratio of number of girls to number of male teachers

Ratio = \sf{\dfrac{Number\:of\:girls}{number\:of\:male\: teachers}}

Ratio = \sf{\dfrac{126÷2}{2÷2}}

Ratio = \sf{\dfrac{63}{1}}

Ratio = 63:1
