To get the median we first arrange the numbers in ascending or descending order.

We arrange as follows.

3, 5 , 5 , 7 , 8 ,9

The series is even.

The median is thus the average of 5 and 7

this is :

(7 + 5)/2 = 12/2 = 6

the median is 6.
