Let the no.of story books be 'x' .

At first she said the no.of textbooks is two more than twice the number of story books bought. So

No.of textbooks = 2 + 2x --------------(1)

Secondly she said that no.of textbooks is four less than four times the number of story books bought .So

No.of textbooks = 4x - 4 ---------------(2)

As no.of textbooks is same so (1)= (2)

2 + 2x = 4x - 4

4x - 2x = 4 + 2 ( transposition)

2x = 6

x = 6/2

= 3

So no.of storybooks is 3 and no.of textbooks = 2 + 2× 3 = 8
