let age of a be 7x and that of b be 5x

age of c = 7x+5x

atp,

a+b+c = 60

7x+5x+7x+5x = 60

24x = 60

x = 60/24

x = 5/2

present age of a = 5/2 × 7 = 35/2 = 17 1/2

hope my answer helps you!
