Question

6. There are 50 students in a class. If 24 of them are boys, find the ratio of boys to girls.

ANSWER :

Total number of students in the class = 50

Number of boys in the class out of 50 = 24

So,

Number of girls in the class room will be

= Total number of students - Number of boys

= 50 - 24

= 26

Therefore, there are 26 number of girls in the class room.

Now,

To be found :-

Ratio of boys to girls

= \frac{24}{26}

= \frac{12}{13}

= 12:13

Hence,

Ratio of boys to girls is 12:13
