       Length of rod, L= 1 m

                                 = 100 cm

Then;-

Let the particle of mass 5kg (m₁) be located at the origin with the co-ordinates of (0, 0) and let it be R₁. Then, the co-ordinates of particle of mass 10kg (m₂) in x-axis will be (100, 0) and let it be R₂.

Now, we know that;-

∵     Rcm = R₁m₁ + R₂m₂ / m₁ + m₂  [By formula]

Note: Rcm represents centre of mass.

∴     Rcm = 5(0) + 10(100) / 5 + 15

        Rcm = 1000/ 15

        Rcm = 67 cm (approx)

Hence, the centre of mass of the system from the 5kg particle is nearly at a distance of 67 cm.
