There are ‘many ways’ to classify the large number of plants that inhabit this planet. Classification is essential to have a clear and strong way of identifying the diversity of the plant kingdom.
The many ways to classify plants is to separate them as:
i) Vascular and non-vascular plants
ii) Seed bearing and spore bearing
iii) Angiosperms and gymnosperms
Plants are also classified as ‘grasses’, ‘herbaceous plants’, ‘woody shrubs’ and ‘trees’. Plants are also treated as all ‘algae and fungi’ were treated as ‘plants’ and all living things that were not animals.
