Deccan plateau is the highest plateau in India. It extends in south India, among three mountain ranges specifically Vindhya hills on the northland, western ghats on the westward and easterly ghats on the easternmost side of the hills sequentially. The Western Ghats are hill range where the higher portion of the Deccan plateau lies.
