This both reaction are the example of combination reaction.

Combination reaction:- The reaction in which two or more reactant react together to form a single product is called combination reaction.

Ex:- CaO + H2O → Ca(OH)2

2CO + O2 → 2CO2

In 1 st case :-

CaO + H2O ------> Ca(OH)2

the Reaction is used in making the slaked lime known as (Chunna) in hindi.

In 2nd Case:-

CaO + H2O → Ca(OH)2

the reaction is used in white washing which gives shiny look to the surfaces.
