Hey there ‼
____________________________________

6x² – x – 2 = 0

6x² – 4x + 3x – 2 = 0

2x ( 3x – 2 ) + ( 3x – 2 ) = 0

( 2x + 1 ) ( 3x – 2 ) = 0

( 2x + 1 ) = 0 or ( 3x – 2 ) = 0

x = –1/2 or x = 2/3

Given,

It is given that 6x²-x-2 = 0.

To find,

We have to solve the given quadratic equation for x.

Solution,

The value of 6x²-x-2 = 0 is 2/3 and -1/2.

We can simply solve the given quadratic equation by using splitting the middle term method.

       6x²-x-2 = 0

       6x²-4x+3x-2 = 0

Taking 2x common from first two terms, we get

      2x(3x-2)+1(3x-2) =0

Taking (3x-2) common, we get

      (3x-2)(2x+1) =0

Either first expression is zero or second expression is zero, we get

       (3x-2) = 0      ,   (2x+1) =0

              x = 2/3               x = -1/2

Hence, the value of 6x²-x-2 = 0 is 2/3 and -1/2.
