Zygote and oncogenes are explained below -

• Zygote is the cell that forms on fertilization of sperm and ovum. Sperm is the male gamete and ovum is the female gamete.
• The next stage is cleavage of zygote which results in formation of further smaller cells.

• Oncogenes are the mutated result of proto-oncogenes. Proto-oncogenes are responsible for cell growth. Mutation in them (formation of oncogenes) results in uncontrolled cell growth and hence development of cancer.
