Six years ago,
seeta was "x-6" years and geeta was "y-6" years.
ATQ,
x-6=3(y-6)
x-6=3y-18
x-3y=-18+6
x-3y=-12............eq.1
After 12 years,
seeta will be x+12 years & geeta will be y+12 years.
ATQ,
x+12=2(y+12)
x+12=2y+24
x-2y=24-12
x-2y=12.......eq.2
subtract eq.2 from eq.
x-3y -(x-2y)=-12-(12)
x-3y-x+2y=-12-12
-y=-24
y=24 years ( put this in eq.1)
x-3y=-12
x-3(24)=-12
x-72=-12
x=-12+72
x = 60 years
age of seets =x= 60 years
age of geeta = 24 years
