Answer:

let mans age= x

let his son age= y

6 years hence: mans age= x+6

                         sons age= y+6

3 years ago: mans age= x-3

                     sons age= y-3

according to the question:-

(x+6)=3(y+6)

x+6=3y+18

x-3y=12----------(i)

(x-3)=9(y-3)

x-3=9y-27

x-9y= -24-----------(ii)

subtracting equations (i) - (ii):

6y= 36

y=36/6

y=6  [substitute this value in equation (i)]

we get, x-3(6)=12

x-18=12

x=12+18

x=30

hence age of father is 30 years & age of his son is 6 years at present

hope it helps you!!...
