ANSWER:

The next term of the series 60,62,64,70,100,310 is 2200.

SOLUTION:

Given, series is 60,62,64,70,100,310,...

We have to find the next term of the series.

First let us consider the difference between side by side terms.

62 – 60 = 2, 64 – 62 = 2, 70 – 64 = 6, 100 – 70 = 30, 310 – 100 = 210.

So, the series of differences is 2, 2, 6, 30, 210.

Now, above series can also be written as 2, 2 x 1, 2 x 3, 6 x 5, 30 x 7.

We can observe that, next term of the series of difference is obtained by multiplying the previous term in series with the corresponding number in the series of odd numbers. i.e. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 …..

So, we have to multiply 210 with 9 to get next number in series of difference.

Next term in series of difference = 210 x 9 = 1890.

To get the next term in our series, we have to add 1890 to last term in our series. i.e. 1890 + 310 = 2200

Hence, the next term of the series is 2200.
