Given 60% passed

Therefore it is clear that 100%-60%

That is 40% of the students failed

Let the total students who wrote the exm be x

The number of students who failed is 240

In other words, 40% of x=240

40/100×x=240

2/5×x=240

or x=240×5/2

=600

Therefore, the answer is c)600

Hope it helps u

Percentage of passed students =60%

Percentage of failed students = 100%-60%= 40%

Number of student can failed= 240

so

240/40=6, which is equal to 1% of total strength.

Total no of students passed is 35%, So

6*60=360.

So Total Students is equal to

360+240 = 600
