Given :

60L tank was full of petrol . Peter use 30% of it and poured the rest into a 50L tank.

To find :

  • What percent of 50K tank was filled with petrol ?

Solution :

  • 60L tank was full of petrol

30% of petrol is used

Amount of petrol is used

→ 30/100 × 60

→ 18L

•°• 18L of petrol is used by Peter

  • Remaining petrol = 60L - 18L = 42L

42L of petrol poured into 50L tank

→ Percent of 50L tank was filled with petrol

  • Formula for finding percentage

→ Amount to find percentage/Total amount × 100

→ 42/50 × 100

→ 420/5

→ 84%

•°• Percent of petrol was poured into 50L tank is 84%

Given :

  • 60L tank was full of petrol . Peter use 30% of it and poured the rest into a 50L tank .

Need To Find :

  • What percent of 50l tank was filled with petrol ?

\rule{100}{2}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Now , First we have to find the used Petrol by Peter ,

\qquad \dag \qquad  \boxed {\pink{ \frak Used_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:  \dfrac{Percentage \:of\:Used_{(Petrol)} }{100} \times Total\:Amount\:_{(Petrol)}  }}\\\\

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Where ,

  • Total Amount of Petrol is 60 l ,
  • Amount of Petrol used by Peter is 30 % .

\dashrightarrow \:\sf Used_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:  \dfrac{ Percentage \:of\:Used_{(Petrol)} }{100} \times Total\:Amount\:_{(Petrol)} \\\\\dashrightarrow \:\sf Used_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:  \dfrac{ 30 }{100} \times 60 \\\\\dashrightarrow \:\sf Used_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:  \dfrac{ 3\cancel {0} }{\cancel {100}} \times 6\cancel {0} \\\\\dashrightarrow \:\sf Used_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:   3 \times 6 \\\\\dashrightarrow \:\sf Used_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:   18 \:l \\\\

\qquad \pmb \dag \:\:\Used_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:   18 \:l \\\\

  • Amount of Petrol used by Peter is 18 l .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Now , We will find the amount of Petrol that is to be poured into a 50 l Tank & it's Given by :

\dashrightarrow \sf Total\:Amount \:_{(Petrol)} - Used_{(Petrol)}\:\: = Poured _{(Petrol)} \\\\

\dashrightarrow \sf 60  - 18\:\: = Poured _{(Petrol)} \\\\

\dashrightarrow \sf 42 \:\: = Poured _{(Petrol)} \\\\

\qquad \pmb \dag \:\:Poured_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:   42 \:l \\\\

Therefore,

  • Amount of Poured Petrol in 50 l tank is 42 l

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Now , At last we will find percent of poured Petrol in 50 l Tank & it's Given by :

\qquad \dag \qquad  \boxed {\pink{ \frak Percentage \:Poured_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:  \dfrac{ Poured _{(Petrol)}}{Total\:Amount_{(Petrol\:in\:tank \:)}} \times 100 }}\\\\

Where ,

  • Total amount of Petrol can be filled in tank is 50 l
  • Poured Petrol in tank is 42 l

\qquad \dashrightarrow \sf Percentage \:Poured_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:  \dfrac{ Poured _{(Petrol)}}{Total\:Amount_{(Petrol\:in\:tank \:)}} \times 100 \\\\

\qquad \dashrightarrow \sf Percentage \:Poured_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:  \dfrac{ 42}{ 50} \times 100 \\\\

\qquad \dashrightarrow \sf Percentage \:Poured_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:  \dfrac{ 42}{ \cancel {50}} \times \cancel {100} \\\\

\qquad \dashrightarrow \sf Percentage \:Poured_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\: 42 \times 2  \\\\

\qquad \dashrightarrow \sf Percentage \:Poured_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\: 84 \:\%  \\\\

\qquad \pmb \dag \:Percentage \:Poured_{(Petrol)}\:\:=\:   84\:l \\\\

  • 84 % of Petrol is filled in 50 l tank
