COMBUSTION REACTION -

  • The burning of a substance in the presence of air is known as a combustion reaction.
  • The Burning of coal in the air produces carbon dioxide as C + O → CO_2
  • According to the chemical equation, 12g of coal burns in 32g of oxygen to produce 44g of carbon dioxide.
  • By stoichiometry, 6kg of carbon will produce 22kg of carbon dioxide.

                                               C + O → CO_2
