Answer :

The value of x is 8cm.

Explanation :

Question says that,

Area of a parallelogram is equal to the area of a trapezium.

Or,

→ b • h = ½(a + b) • h

Where,

  • (a + b) denotes the parallel sides of the trapezium i.e, 7 and 11cm. and ‘h’ is the height x
  • And also, ‘b’ and ‘h’ denotes the base and the height of the parallelogram i.e., 12cm and 6cm respectively.

According to the question :

\implies 12 \times 6 = \dfrac{1}{2} (7 + 11) \times x \\

\implies 72 = \frac{1}{2} \times 18x \\

\implies 72 = 9x \\

\implies \dfrac{72}{9} = x \\

\implies 8= x \\

{ \therefore{ \sf{The \: value\: of}}} \: \boldsymbol{x} \sf \: is \: 8cm \\
