6x-10y=5

6X+4y=16

change the sign through out the second row

6x-10y=5

-6x-4y=-16

on solving

y= 11/14=0.8

y= 0.8

now substituting y in the first row

6x-10(0.8)=5

x=13/6=2.16

X=2.16
