7- Answer the following questions numbers 7(a)-7(d) on the basis of your understanding of the
following paragraph and the related studied concepts.
A single cell provides a feeble current. In order to get a higher current in a circuit, we often use a
combination of cells, two of more cells.
When the negative terminal of one cell is connected to the positive terminal of the other cell and so
on, the cells are said to be connected in series. When the positive terminals of all cells are
connected to one point and all their negative terminals to another point, the cells are said to be
connected in parallel.
Four cells each of emf 2 V and internal resistance 0.1 are connected in series, the combination in
series is joined to an ammeter of negligible resistance, a 1.6 a resistor and unknown resistor R, as
shown in figure.
The current in the circuit is 2 A.
