There are seeds that need frost, some even need fire. All the specific conditions a seed needs to germinate won't be present in your seed packet but by far the most important is humidity. So if you don't want those precious seeds to germinate inside the packet: keep it dry.

There are 3 major factors that influence the germination of seeds -

  1. Temperature
  2. Light
  3. Humidity

So, we can understand by these points that when we germinate a seed into a packet it would not get a suitable temperature , even if the packet is placed in wet reason then there will be more moisture inside it which can become the reason for the plant to die.

Even the plants will not get enough light for photosynthesis.
