a) Area of the shaded region = Area of the rectangle - Area of the triangle

Area of rectangle = l × b = 10 × 16 = 160 cm²

Area of the triangle = 1/2 × base × height = 1/2 × 8 × 17 = 68 cm²

Area of the shaded region = 160 cm² - 68 cm² = 92 cm²

b) Area of the shaded region = Area of the square - Area of the circle

Area of the square = side × side = 14 × 14 = 196 cm²

Area of circle = πr² = \frac{22}{7} * 7 * 7 = 154 cm²

{Side of the square = Diameter of the circle}

Area of shaded region = 196 cm² - 154 cm² = 42 cm²

c) Area of the shaded region = Area of the rectangle - Area of the triangle Area of the rectangle = l ×b = 40 × 80 = 3200 cm²

Area of the triangle = \frac{1}{2} bh = \frac{1}{2}* 80 * 40 = 1600 cm²

Area of the shaded region = 3200 - 1600 = 1600 cm²
