The velocity is 8 m/s.

(2) is correct option.

Explanation:

Given that,

Area of input cross section = 1 cm

Velocity of input = 4 m/s

Area of first output cross section = 2 cm

Velocity of first output = 8 m/s

Area of second  output cross section = 1.5 cm

We need to calculate the velocity

Using formula of continuity

A_{2}v_{2}=A_{1}v_{1}+A_{3}v_{3}

Put the value into the formula

2\times10^{-2}\times8=1\times10^{-2}\times4+1.5\times10^{-2}\times v_{3}

v_{3}=\dfrac{2\times10^{-2}\times8-1\times10^{-2}\times4}{1.5\times10^{-2}}

v_{3}=8\ m/s

Hence, The velocity is 8 m/s.
