ANSWER:-

Given \:  that  \: x \: = 2  \: and \:  y = 4

So,  \:  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  + xy \: will \: be :

 {2}^{2}  +   {4}^{2}  + 2 \times 4

 =  \: 4 + 16 + 8

 = 20 + 8

 = 28
