Answer:

Let the number of Green buttons be 2x and blue buttons be x

Number of Green buttons= 48

2x= 48

x= 48/2= 24

So , number of blue buttons= 24

Ratio of red buttons: blue buttons= 5:3

let the number of blue Buttons be 3x and Red buttons be 5x

3x= 24

x= 24/3= 8

So, number of Red buttons= 5× 8= 40

Answer:

Number of red buttons =  40

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Given data: Inside the box there are three types of buttons - red button, blue button and green button.

       Let, express number of red button as 'R', blue button as 'B' and green button as 'G.'

      The ratio R:B = 5:3        and        B:G = 1:2         and       G = 48

  • Suppose 'x' is the common factor of the ratio, B:G = 1:2

        So B = x and G = 2x

        From mentioned data in question, G = 48

        So, we can write 2x = 48             or, x = 24

       B = Number of blue buttons = 24

  • Suppose 'y' is the common factor of the ratio, R:B = 5:3

        Then R = 5y and B = 3y

        From above calculation we got, B = 24

          Comparing the value of 'B' we can write, 3y = 24    or, y = 8

         R = Number of red buttons = 5 × 8 = 40
