Given:
Cost of 10 kilograms of apples of type 1 = Rs. 100 per kg
Cost of 10 kilograms of apples of type 2 = Rs. 180 per kg
To find:
The price at which the shopkeeper must sell the mixed apples to make a profit of 90%.
Solution:
Cost of 10 kilograms of apples of type 1 = Rs. 100*10 = Rs. 1000
Cost of 10 kilograms of apples of type 2 = Rs. 80*10= Rs. 800
Total cost price of apples = Rs. 1000+800 = Rs. 1800
Profit percent to be made= 25%
Profit= (25/100)*1800
= Rs. 450
Selling price of all the 20 kg apple= Profit+ cost price
= Rs. 450+ Rs. 1800 = Rs. 2250
Selling price of 1 kg of apple = Rs. 2250/20 = Rs. Rs. 112.5
The shopkeeper must sell the apples at a cost of Rs. 112.5 per kg.
