x+y=35 --------(1)

the difference is 13,

here let x>y,then

x-y=13-------(2)

adding eq--(1) and (2) ,we get

x+y+x-y=35+13

2x=48

x=24.

thus ,y=35-24=11.

however,when you let ,y>x ,in this case you will get the same pair of numbes,

ie,. 11 and 24.

thus the required numbers are, 11and 24.
