Answer:

24yrs

Let the present ages of Sameer and Anand be 5x years and 4x years respectively.

Then

4x+3

5x+3

9

11

9(5x+3)=11(4x+3) =45x+27=44x+33

45x−44x =33−27

x=6

present age =4x=24years

Present age of B =24 years

Explanation:-

Let the present ages of A and B be K and S.

K:S = 5:4 or 4K = 5S, or

K = 5S/4 …(1)

(K+3):(S+3) = 11:9, or

9K+27 = 11S+33 or

9K = 11S+6, OR

K = 11S/9 + (6/9) …(2)

Equate (1) and (2)

5S/4 = (11S/9) + (6/9)

45S = 44S+24, or

S = 24, and K = 5*24/4 = 30.

B is 24 years, now.
