You can't use an elastic measuring tape to measure distance because an elastic tape does not have any proper length, you can stretch it too much as its made of elastic. While we measured the distance by an elastic tape to measure when we will try to measure the elastic tape then, so the measure of that tape would not come out perfectly because an elastic tape is stretchible
