Given :- 72 Maths books, 144 Physics books and 162 Chemistry books are to be stacked topic wise. How many books will be in each stack to get the same height ?

Solution :-

Since the height of each stack is the same.

So, number of books in each stack will be HCF of 72, 144 and 162.

Prime factors of 72, 144 and 162 :-

→ 72 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 3

→ 144 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 3

→ 162 = 2 * 3 * 3 * 3 * 3

HCF = 2 * 3 * 3 = 18 .

Hence, The required number of books in each stack is 18 .

if you want to find number of stacks of each book ,than,

→ Number of the stack of Maths book = 72/18 = 4.

→ Number. of a stack of Physics book = 144/18 = 8.

→ Number of stock of Chemistry book = 162/18 = 9.
