Answer:

Multiply the first equation with 3 i.e.,3(7x-8y=19)=21x-24y=57.......eqn (1)

In the same way multiply the second equation with 7 i.e.,7(3x-5y=16)=21x-35y=112......eqn (2)

Now on solving eqn(1) and eqn(2),

21x-24y=57

21x-35y=112

_________. (change the signs)

11y=-55

______

y=-5

Now substitute the y value in eqn (1) or eqn(2)

We will get x value as - 3
