Where a is the coefficient of x'2, b is the coefficient of x and c is the constant....
For splitting the middle term.... Multiply a and c and then find the factor of ac i. e. Find the factor of 35 so that it will be the sum of 12.....

7x'2 -12x+5
multiply 1st and 3 rd
7x'2-7x-5x+5
7x(x+1)-5(x-1)
(7x-5) (x+1)
