Answer :
- 100cm is length of the tape
- 105cm is overlapping of tape
Given :
- Length is 40cm
- breadth is 10cm
To find:
- length of the tape used
Solution :
Given that , A lid of rectangular box of sides 40 cm by 10 cm is sealed all around with tape. so now we have to find the length of tape used.
- Length = 40cm
- breadth = 10cm
Length of tape required = Perimeter of rectangle
- Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)
⟶ 2(length + breadth)
⟶ 2 (40 + 10)
⟶ 2(50)
⟶ 100 cm
Hence , 100cm is the length of tape required.
Now overlapping,
- 100 + 5
- 105 cm
