Answer :

  • 100cm is length of the tape
  • 105cm is overlapping of tape

Given :

  • Length is 40cm
  • breadth is 10cm

To find:

  • length of the tape used

Solution :

Given that , A lid of rectangular box of sides 40 cm by 10 cm is sealed all around with tape. so now we have to find the length of tape used.

  • Length = 40cm
  • breadth = 10cm

Length of tape required = Perimeter of rectangle

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

⟶ 2(length + breadth)

⟶ 2 (40 + 10)

⟶ 2(50)

⟶ 100 cm

Hence , 100cm is the length of tape required.

Now overlapping,

  • 100 + 5
  • 105 cm
