Now of this half he gave half to his son. So how much did his son got from the original land?  14  ( 12⋅12=14 ) that leaves himself with  14  and from this he gave  13  to his daughter so she got  112  ( 14⋅13 ) of the original land and now he has  14−112=312−112=212=16 .

He has  16  of his land left.
