Given data :

  • A park is in the form of a rectangle 120 m long and 100 m wide.

  • At the centre, there is a circular lawn of radius root 1050 m.

To find : Find the area of the park excluding the lawn ?

Solution :

According to given,

→ Length of rectangular park = 120 m

→ Breadth of rectangular park = 100 m

→ Radius of circular park, r = √1050 m

Now,

→ Area of rectangular park

= Length * Breadth

→ Area of rectangular park

= 120 * 100

→ Area of rectangular park

= 12000 m²

Let, area of rectangular park be x,

so, x = 12000 m²

Now,

→ Area of circular lawn = π * r²

→ Area of circular lawn = 22/7 * ( √1050 )²

→ Area of circular lawn = 22/7 * 1050

→ Area of circular lawn = 22 * 150

→ Area of circular lawn = 3300 m²

Let, area of circular lawn be y,

so, y = 3300 m²

Now, to find area of the area of the park excluding the lawn.

→ Area of circular park = x - y

→ Area of circular park = {12000 - 3300} m²

→ Area of circular park = 8700 m²

Answer : Hence, the area of the area of the park excluding the lawn is 8700 m².
